How do I sign up for Clickatell Marketplace?
To sign up for Marketplace, contact our Sales team who will get back to you with a proposal. Once the proposal has been signed off:
Your assigned Technical Account Manager will assist you in completing an onboarding form.
Clickatell provides you with API documentation and UAT credentials to enable to you start the integration to Clickatell’s Marketplace Distribution APIs.
On completion of the integration by your team, UAT is carried out between both parties.
Once the UAT document is signed off, Clickatell provides you with credentials to use for deployment to production. We advise that a period is set aside for pilot testing before you deploy this to your entire customer base.
How long is the onboarding process
How long the onboarding process takes is greatly dependent on you as it is dependent on your speed in integrating to the provided Marketplace Distribution APIs. A typical onboarding process takes between 2-3 months to start distributing the products.

How does Clickatell's Marketplace product help my business?

What costs are involved with Marketplace?
There are no costs associated with the Marketplace product – both onboarding and product distribution are free of charge. Therefore, you can start distributing the catalyst products without any initial capital outlay.
The Marketplace product works on a Revenue Share pricing model, with both parties (Clickatell and the Client) sharing the revenue made from distributing the products. For every product distributed, there is a Merchant Discount Rate (MDR) Clickatell receives from the vendor for facilitating the transaction (this rate varies by vendor). This MDR is usually a percentage of the value of the product being distributed. Clickatell shares the MDR with you based on the agreed revenue share percentage.
Our simplified reconciliation and settlement process makes it easy for you to determine how much you are earning daily from the products you are distributing. We provide you with a daily settlement file that includes detailed information about each processed transaction that you can use for your internal reconciliation processes. Payments will then be made to Clickatell based on the amount provided in the file and email.
What is Clickatell Marketplace?
NOTE: Marketplace is currently available in Nigeria and South Africa only.
Marketplace is a cloud-based digital distribution platform that you can use to distribute market-specific catalyst products that assist in driving traffic to your chat channels. The Marketplace product aggregates key digital products such as airtime, data, and bill payments with turn-key processes such as error management, settlement and reconciliation, and support. These processes account for merchant-specific nuances, removing the complexity of digital product distribution. These catalyst products can be distributed via Marketplace’s public APIs or using Clickatell’s Chat Templates powered by our Chat Flow product.
Once you are onboarded, you will get access to the Clickatell Portal where you can view reports and transaction details using the Transaction Lookup Tool. The Transaction Lookup Tool enables you to view the status and details of all your Marketplace transactions and request a refund on behalf of your customers based on the vendor's business rules.
What is Marketplace Chat Templates?
If you don’t have the experience (or time!) to build user journeys for these kinds of Marketplace products, you can use Clickatell’s Chat Templates. These Chat Templates, powered by our Chat Flow product, come pre-integrated with Marketplace and give you access to pre-defined workflows optimized for chat channels such as USSD and WhatsApp without needing to develop against our APIs. These optimized Chat Templates were developed by leveraging our years of industry experience to reduce customer drop-off.

What reporting is available for Marketplace?
Commerce Reports, available under the Analytics & Reports tab in the Clickatell Portal, provides you with a view of all your Marketplace transactions across all vendors, products, channels, and countries. This enables you to monitor and gain insights into the usage and performance of all your products. Three views are available:
Overview: provides an overview of today’s Marketplace activities and compares them with the previous day.
Full Analytics: provides you a full view of all Marketplace transactions over a selected time frame.
Trends: provides a long-term, historical view of your Marketplace activities.
