How do I enter the tax ID correctly for my country?

When registering a Brand from within the Clickatell Portal, your application is submitted to the Campaign Registry, an independent Reputation Authority chosen by Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) to collect Brand and Campaign data to allow for transparency on the 10DLC network.

The Campaign Registry uses the tax ID number in conjunction with the company’s name, address, and other information to perform a background investigation on the correct company.

This process is mostly automated for US-based companies. Companies in other countries fall into one of two categories:

1.      Those that have automated VAT identification

2.      Those that require external vetting


United States

If you are a US company or a foreign company with a US IRS Employer Identification Number (EIN), please enter that nine-digit number in the EIN field and ensure that your legal company name is consistent with your IRS registration and is spelled correctly. The address you enter should also be the same as that used in registering with the IRS.



If your primary business registration is in Canada, please enter your Canadian Corporation Number, which may be federal or provincial. Please do NOT enter your business number or federal tax ID number, as that is not readily cross-referenced. As always, please ensure that your legal company name is consistent with your corporation registration and is properly spelled. The address you enter should also be the same as that used in registering with Corporations Canada.

  • Alberta: Corporate Access Number 

  • British Columbia: Requires an alpha prefix (BC)

  • Quebec: Quebec Business Number

  • Ontario: Federal Corporation Business Number (starts with two zeros, but remove leading zeros in admin to verify)

  • Manitoba: Manitoba Corporation Number 


Europe, Eastern Europe, North Atlantic, Middle East, South America, and APAC

Automated brand verification using the VAT ID number is currently optimized for the countries listed in the table below. Please enter the numeric portion of your VAT ID number.

If your country is not on this list, there is a high likelihood that external vetting (verification) will be required by the 10DLC registration entity, which carries a cost and may take a few days to complete.

Please provide the primary corporation registration number or tax ID number for your country.
