Why can’t I purchase a new US 2-way SMS package on my Developer Central account?

The sale of new US 2-way SMS packages is no longer supported due to regulatory changes in the US. All the major US carrier networks now support A2P (application-to-person) 10DLC (10 Digit Long Code) messaging.

All businesses currently using SMS text messaging to communicate with their US customers should be using or switching to 10DLC. This SMS solution is aimed at helping protect those on the receiving end of business text messaging by verifying the senders, providing a better and more secure customer experience while minimizing the risk of spam messages.
