Before you start sending it to Norway, please ensure you understand the regulations around messaging as outlined by the Norwegian Communications Authority. A brief summary of select regulations can also be found here.
Restriction | Description |
Time restriction | Non-essential messages should be avoided during off-peak hours (8 pm – 8 am GMT +1). |
Opt-in | It is best practice to obtain end-user consent before sending any communication from your service. Unsolicited messages will not be sent to end-users. |
Opt-out | You are required to support STOP and STOPP as opt-out keywords on your dedicated short code or long number program in Norway. We also recommend that you support similar keywords in the end-users’ regional language for good user experience. |
Message content | Carrier networks may filter messages containing hyperlinks as a spam prevention measure. Inform your account manager if you need to send such messages as part of your SMS campaign. |
