The Situation
Satcom introduced an electronic funds transfer switch in Tanzania for the first time that accepts/authorizes electronic transactions from various banks and financial organizations. The banks had a requirement to be informed of any event on their ATMs, such as low currency notes in the ATM, running out of paper, power failure or even an attempt of fraudulence, etc.
The Solution
With the help of Clickatell's SMTP API connection (email to SMS) Satcom was able to integrate the SMS alerts that informed the banks of any impending or existing problems.
The Results
Customer satisfaction has been greatly increased since banks are now made aware of any problem before the customer, thus enabling the bank to resolve the issue proactively without the customer ever knowing it existed. It has been so successful that Satcom is now looking at introducing the SMS alerts for monitoring various other devices on the network. |
