The Situation
They had in the past been using, on a limited basis, a service provider who could not assure them of SMS delivery. Iganic were faced with the problem that they were being made to look unprofessional whilst the problem was not their own. Iganic were demanding guaranteed delivery if they were going to move forward with this functionality on the various websites which they design and manage. As an addition to their service offering Iganic found SMS to be a powerful differentiator.
The original reason why Iganic wanted to make use of SMS functionality, was in order for them to be seen as being proactive in terms of product offerings to their customers. Iganic felt that by making use of Clickatell’s services with their customers they would be able to gain a stronger competitive advantage. Along with this, they would be able to create an additional basis for differentiation between themselves and their competitors. Iganic felt that Clickatell had been able to provide the solution that would best suit their needs.
The Solution
They decided to make use of Clickatell API. This was the ideal solution for Iganic, as they would then be able to create
customised products and messaging interfaces for their customers. These products and messaging systems would contain no Clickatell
branding. They decided that the best option was to purchase the credits from Clickatell and then on-sell these to their
customers. Iganic’s customers have since been satisfied, as the product has proved to be extremely reliable and robust. They
have also found that the product was very easy for their in-house developers to use.
Iganic are currently trying to implement SMS messaging across their customer base. They feel that the costs that the customer will incur are justified in light of the capabilities of the product, allowing them to use carrier-grade technology with no initial capital outlay. An agreement has been reached whereby Iganic will make use of our SMS capabilities whenever the opportunity arises.
