Clickatell's Multimode Messaging Manager is a multi channel messaging application that can be integrated with any enterprise or public safety system.
A messaging event (e.g. status update, transaction alert) generated by an enterprise application is forwarded to the Multimode Messaging Manager via a set of open APIs, automatically transcoded into the right format and delivered in real-time to the recipient's device, e.g. mobile phone, landline, fax, pager, PC or any IP connected device. The Multimodal capability allows messages to "switch" between these communication channels.

How Multimode Messaging can help you:
- It allows for message escalation where notifications escalate from device to device (e.g. mobile, landline, fax, pagers, etc.), or person to person until received.
- The assured delivery makes it ideal for critical messages such as emergency alerts or business continuity notifications.
- Messages are sent to customers or employees in their preferred mode of delivery (e.g. voice, email or IM).
- Clickatell's multimodal technology enables all divisions in an organization to utilize one single messaging strategy irrespective of messaging medium and end-user device.
- New messaging channels (e.g. Mobile IM) can simply be added to the Clickatell platform as they are implemented by mobile network operators.
- A set of open APIs allows businesses to build applications, plug in and adapters in any programming language and integrate directly with Clickatell.
