Clickatell appoints new Vice President for European Sales

(Photography available upon request) London, UK, 05 June 2007 – Leading mobile messaging provider Clickatell has appointed Spencer Young as its Vice President for European Sales. In his new role, Spencer will spearhead Clickatell’s continued expansion into Europe as the leading provider of enterprise-standard mobile messaging solutions, with a particular focus on the burgeoning financial and healthcare sectors.
Based in Clickatell’s London offices, Spencer will also assume the role of UK Country Manager, where he will be responsible for managing Clickatell’s portfolio of UK-based customers, which include some of the largest banks and broadcasting companies in Europe, as well as the NHS and European Union.

Spencer has nearly 20 years of field sales and management experience in enterprise technology, and joins Clickatell from enterprise search and retrieval company FAST. During his time as Regional VP for Western Europe at FAST, he delivered 65% year-on-year revenue growth, including a record number of new business wins across the region.
Prior to joining FAST, as General Manager for the UK, Nordics and South Africa of enterprise search software developer Verity inc, he restored double digit revenue growth and profitability to the region.
Other roles have included a two-and-a-half year stint at enterprise content management software company Interwoven, where he was a member of the European sales and management team which restored the company to profitability and revenue growth. Previously, Young held senior sales and business management positions at IBM and Xerox.
