Clickatell Chooses OKSIJEN as Technology Partner
May 15, 2002 Clickatell, mobile messaging solutions provider, announced a partnership with Oksijen Teknoloji, a leading telecom and mobile internet applications platform vendor, which is set to increase revenues for both companies considerably over the next year. The partnership is a strategic one, which will enable Clickatell to roll out applications focused on the emerging GPRS market, aimed at application developers, telecommunications networks and aggregators. Clickatell will expose the new platform at the WAVE 2002 developers’ workshop, which they are hosting on invitation from Cingular Wireless. The benefit for Clickatell is that the partnership will accelerate the development of their GPRS platform, and allow the company to extend their offering to mobile networks themselves. Clickatell already offers turnkey enablement of SMS and mobile messaging solutions to all layers of the users market, from developers to corporates and consumers. The company’s focus is on enablement technologies, allowing rapid integration of legacy systems into global mobile data delivery channels. Clickatell has chosen to use the Oksijen platforms to maintain its status as market leader, as innovative Oksijen products are already proven in high stress networks and they provide wide range of opportunities for the global market. Managing Director of Clickatell, Pieter de Villiers, believes that the Oksijen agreement, signed in Istanbul in April, positions Clickatell for the future: “As new technologies are being adopted globally, mobile networks are frantically scurrying to find revenue models and applications to support the rollout of GPRS. Clickatell and Oksijen have a solution that will enable rapid deployment of applications and the creation of new revenue opportunities. This we have found to be a key requirement from our clients and distribution partners, and we are excited to be in a position to offer this to the global community.” According to Oksijen Managing Director, Bulent Kaytaz, the partnership with Clickatell is very important for exposing Oksijen solutions to the global market: “Oksijen has developed its mobile internet and telecom solutions for next generation networks, allowing immediate integration into existing network infrastructure. Clickatell is ideally suited to exposing these opportunities to the global market, as they have existing marketing and sales infrastructure which supports this.” Clickatell is already in talks with mobile networks in the USA and Africa on deployment, and will release its first integrated platform within the next few months.
